What changed in each version of Kujaku, what it requires, and what it does not do yet.

1.0.1
A maintenance release that temporarily withdraws the public tag-concept workflow and returns the interface to saved tags.
Changes
- Tag concepts are temporarily hidden from the tag popover, image details, image context menus, tag suggestions, and active filters while their purpose and workflow are redesigned.
- Normal saved-tag creation, suggestions, filtering, and clearing remain available.
Existing data
- Existing concepts, aliases, and manual image assignments are not deleted. They remain in the local database and can be reused if the feature is published again.
- The database schema is not rolled back, and folder synchronization and index rebuilding continue to preserve this user-owned data.

1.0.0
The first public release of Kujaku. Everything it does with your images and their metadata happens on your Mac.
What it does
- Register the folders you choose, then search and organize the images inside them, subfolders included.
- Read generation metadata into a search index: NovelAI first, plus ComfyUI, Automatic1111 (SD WebUI), and StableSwarmUI PNG metadata.
- Inspect the prompt, negative prompt, seed, model, sampler, and step count for any image, and copy any of them with one click.
- Narrow the library by combining tags, by aspect ratio, by favorites, and by delete candidates.
- Compare images in the thumbnail grid, the preview, and the slideshow.
- Mark images you no longer want as delete candidates, review them together later, and only then move them to the Trash. Nothing is deleted without that confirmation.
- Check for updates from the app menu. An update is never installed without your confirmation.
- Open support, the privacy policy, and the open-source licenses from the Help menu, and copy the details a support request needs in one step.
Requirements
- macOS 26.0 or later
- A Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 or later)
Known limitations
- No cloud sync, no online accounts, no NovelAI API integration.
- An image whose generation metadata has been stripped is indexed as an image without generation details.
- Kujaku is not an official or affiliated NovelAI app. The name appears only to describe the metadata formats it reads.
Distribution and updates
- The download is signed with a Developer ID certificate and notarized by Apple.
- An update check reaches only files under https://kujaku.app. It sends no images, prompts, or generation metadata.
- No usage data is collected.
